MANORI DONGAR MARVE ROAD MALAD WEST

Manori is a village located on Dharavi Bhet in northern Mumbai, India. It is known for its beach and the Manori Creek. The closest railway station is Malad.
Manori can be reached by road via Bhayander. The sea route, however, is relatively shorter. Manori is a 15 minute ferry ride away from Marve Beach in Malad.
Manori is dominated by the local fishing community (kolis). Fishing is the major occupation among the locals. Manori is a very popular weekend destination among the people of Mumbai. The beach, roads, overall culture is very reminiscent of Goa and the place provides a mini-Goa experience within the boundaries of Mumbai city.
Apart from beachside shacks, there are two resorts in Manori designed like Spanish villas.
For the religious/ spiritual, The Global Vipassana Pagoda, the world's largest structure containing the bone relics of the Buddha[citation needed], offers a breathtaking view. There are 2 beautiful ashrams of the spiritual masters of Nath Sampradaya - Swami Gagangiri Maharaj and his disciple Swami Gagananand Maharaj. There is a Shiv temple (Samudreshwar) located at the jetty of Manori.
The largest bungalow in the village, the Green Villa, belongs to the Ferreiras and is also known as Motha Ghar.
The Village is divided into 3 sections i.e. Koliwada, Bhandarwada and Panchghar. Koliwada being the most populated and congested compared to other 2 sections.
Manori is nowadays full of Hotels and cottages as a lot of picnickers are seen visiting on daily bases and on weekends, the village beaches and resorts are completely jam packed.
It is a beautiful and peaceful weekend getaway, far from hustle and bustle of the city into the loving arms of nature. It is a place to relax and enjoy nature. The locals are very friendly. There are Chinese food corners here that serve Indo- Chinese food but the best is to try the East Indian food and sea food. Some of the popular dishes are Pork Vindaloo and Sorpotel, Chicken Raan, Stuffed Pomfret, Dry Bombay duck chutney, rotis, Prawns chilly fry and fried bombay duck, as these dishes are wonderfully made here.
With new MMRDA plans coming as tourism zone for Manori, Culvem, Gorai and Uttan chances are these areas are going to be converted into Picnic spots. A cable bridge is been passed from Marve to Manori and a lot of area is declared as a tourism zone which was a NDZ. A lot of agricultural lands are converted to green zone where you can build farm houses and bungalows, swimming pools etc. After the drafts prepared by MMRDA, the places here are in great demand. The value of properties is increasing and all the crowd from mumbai is getting hold of this plots as when the development starts these places are going to be out of hands of a common man.
